Enya – vocals, keyboards, synthesizers, multi-tracked voices

Music by Enya, lyrics by Roma Ryan. Arranged by Enya & Nicky Ryan, produced, engineered, and mixed by Nicky Ryan, mastered by Dick Beetham. Recorded 1998–2000 at Aigle Studio (Killiney, County Dublin). The closing track (about 3:42) on A Day Without Rain (WEA/Reprise, November 2000).

An upbeat song about taking a day to chill out, which Enya says is an important thing to do at the pace we live at, when we’re too focused on work. She has said that, like “Wild Child,” it has a positive kind of beat, and that the string section has more rhythm than on earlier albums. Roma Ryan’s liner notes describe a lazy day as one where you make time to dream, reflect, and enjoy the moment as it is. The lyric “and how it sails away” echoes the sailing imagery of Enya’s earlier hit “Orinoco Flow.”

Enya – Lazy Days Lyrics

Lazy old day
Rolling away
Dreaming the day away
Don’t want to go
Now that I’m in the flow
Crazy amazing day

One red balloon
Floats to the moon
Just let it fly away
I only know
That I’m longing to go
Back to my lazy day

And how it sings and how it sighs
And how it never stays
And how it rings and how it cries
And how it sails away…
away… away….
