Enya – piano, keyboards, synthesizers, multi-tracked voices
Written by Enya & Roma Ryan. Arranged by Enya & Nicky Ryan, produced and engineered by Nicky Ryan, mixed by Enya and Nicky Ryan, mastered by Dick Beetham. Recorded 1998–2000 at Aigle Studio (Killiney, County Dublin). The instrumental opening track (about 2:38) on A Day Without Rain (WEA in Europe on 20 November 2000, Reprise in the US on 21 November).
A piano instrumental that started life as a song: Roma Ryan had prepared an incomplete set of lyrics, but as the arrangement developed it clearly wanted to stay instrumental, and she kept one line as the title. The album it opens became the best-selling new-age album in history, with an estimated 16 million copies sold worldwide, and its title-track opener continues a pattern of instrumental openers on Enya’s earlier albums.
