Artists
Musicians featured in this piece are:
Eric Clapton – lead vocals, guitar
J.J. Cale – guitar
Written by J.J. Cale. Produced by J.J. Cale, Eric Clapton & Simon Climie, recorded in Los Angeles in August 2005. Released as the second track (about 4:09) on The Road to Escondido (Duck/Reprise Records, 7 November 2006).
Cale wrote a large batch of new songs for the sessions, including this one, and eleven of the album’s fourteen songs are his. Partway through the recording, Clapton told Cale he’d decided to turn it into a joint Eric Clapton–J.J. Cale album rather than a record Cale produced for him.
J.J. Cale & Eric Clapton – Heads In Georgia Lyrics
Well my head’s in Georgia, but my feet is California bound
Well my head’s in Georgia, but my feet is California bound
‘Cause that good-looking woman I got wants to leave these Georgia towns
Well we ride them old freight trains and rent them automobiles
Well we ride them old freight trains and rent them automobiles
‘Cause that good-looking woman is tired of these old Georgia hills
And that lonesome old highway seems to be our way, no doubt
And that lonesome old highway seems to be our way, no doubt
‘Cause that good-looking woman and me, we just hanging out
Trains and airplanes is all we do
I’m running right behind just like she wants me to
Makes me no difference to me when all is said and done
Headed west into the setting sun
Well my head’s in Georgia, but my feet is California bound
‘Cause that good-looking woman I got wants to leave these Georgia towns
Well my head’s in Georgia, but my feet is California bound
Well my head’s in Georgia, but my feet is California bound
‘Cause that good-looking woman I got wants to leave these Georgia towns
‘Cause that good-looking woman I got wants to leave these Georgia towns
Good-looking woman I got wants to leave these Georgia towns
