“All the Machines” is one of the standout tracks on Grace Slick‘s synth-pop pivot with Software, described by critics as a catchy “techno mantra” tackling workplace automation. The backing vocal lineup is notable for including Paul Kantner and Mickey Thomas, both of whom were, at the time, Grace Slick‘s bandmates in the contemporary incarnation of Jefferson Starship.
